Just a quick post to keep the blog from going stale.  We've been so busy and that will continue until May 25th.  There has been a little time for afterschooling though.  Trenton has completed 3 of 5 workbooks we use to suppliment his education.  I'm excited to finish the last 2 and go shopping for some new ones.  He's finishing Kindergarten but I suspect we'll be shopping for 2nd and 3rd grade workbooks.  So in the past few weeks, we've worked on double/triple digit addition and subtraction (no carrying/borrowing), simple multiplication, journal writing, spelling, French lessons, language arts, Chess, and piano.   A new resource added to our afterschooling arsenal is the Khan Academy!  Trenton is working his way through the arithmetic section, and the beginning geometry section.  Great site (and FREE)!

Some exciting events coming up:  piano recital (he's playing two pieces), and a graduation ceremony where Trenton has a role in a skit.  He's nervous but excited about these opportunities.

Oh, and Trenton presented a garbage/recycling presentation to his classmates a week ago.  We gathered some of our resources here at home, printed some of his favorite types of trucks, labeled their parts, and wrote down some important points to discuss with the class.  Trenton enjoyed this process. :)
